ACS Engineering Group’s experienced environmental consultants model results to determine whether a facility is operating or will operate in compliance with state and federal standards, and whether its operations may result in negative health effects on persons living or working in the area.

Why Choose Us?

ACS Engineering Group’s air environmental consulting team uses air dispersion modeling to predict off-property concentrations resulting from emissions of air pollution. Equations and algorithms are incorporated into various computer models to calculate atmospheric concentrations of pollutants at specific points. ACS Engineering Group uses EPA’s most current version of Air Dispersion Models and a graphical software package to perform detailed air dispersion modeling for your project. Our approach to modeling consists of collecting all relevant information about the facility to produce the most accurate results, modeling analysis according to state guidelines specific to where the facility is located, and producing a final report for the appropriate environmental agencies and for the client.

ACS Engineering Group has performed refined modeling in several different states for various types of facilities.

Our Approach to Air Modeling:

  • Collect all required information about the facility, such as point parameters, exact location, and emission rates, to produce the most accurate results
  • Perform preliminary modeling to determine whether refined modeling is required
  • If necessary, perform a refined modeling analysis according to the guidelines of the state in which the facility is located
  • Produce a finished report for the environmental agency or agencies and for the client.

In all cases, we strive to get the client permitted with no modeling at all. We investigate the facts, provide sound engineering knowledge, and reasonably present your case to the agency.

In the event modeling is required, there is no limit to the technology types ACS Engineering Group can model. We have performed air modeling in several states across multiple industry and technology types.

After the permit is approved, we utilize several record keeping options to ensure your site stays on task, in compliance with the terms and conditions of the permit, and is perpetually prepared for an audit.

NSR regulations must be addressed when a company adds a new facility or modifies an existing one. The two prime sets of NSR rules are Non-attainment NSR (NNSR) and PSD regulations. Proposed construction of a site or modifications to an existing major site in non-attainment areas are subject to NNSR permitting when potential emissions of the pollutants for which the site is not in attainment are above the “major” threshold definition for the specific non-attainment area. We can help your business determine what steps you will need to take in order to run new and modified emission sources.

If you have questions concerning the latest developments and best available control technologies (BACT) available to your project for initial or amendment air permitting, consult our engineers to help you optimize decisions during the permitting process.

If you are currently an operating facility with an existing air permit and would like to speak with ACS Engineering Group concerning permit compliance options, call to setup an site consultation. We will review your existing air permit, records, and compliance program to provide you with a detailed gap analysis and risk mitigation plan. Talk to us about our methods for maintaining a positive compliance track record.

Our environmental consultants have over 20 years of industry experience working with clients, regulatory agencies, and writing permits. You can count on ACS Engineering Group to deliver you the best services, permits and plans for your facility.
