ACS Engineering Group’s air environmental consulting team is experienced in preparing thorough and meticulously reviewed NNSR and PSD permit applications.
Why Choose Us?
ACS Engineering Group methodically reviews applications for completion and accuracy to eliminate processing delay due to insufficient or incorrect documentation. ACS Engineering Group focuses on determining which regulations are applicable to each client and limits unnecessary requirements and documentations. Following both of these steps translates into substantial savings for our clients.
ACS Engineering Group has a track record of achieving quick approval of New Source Review (NSR) and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) air permits and streamlining environmental compliance requirements for our clients by maintaining regular communications with regulating environmental agency personnel and staying abreast of environmental regulatory developments. Our expertise in air modeling will ensure your proposed equipment is represented fairly and accurately. We understand the subtle differences between technologies and understand that during bid phase you may need to evaluate emissions for several types of machines.
We work with OEM manufacturers of technologies such as boilers, heat recovery steam generators, gas turbines, and catalysts to ensure the emission source is permitted per specification and can achieve full capacity when operating without emission constraints. After the permit is approved, we utilize several record keeping options to ensure your site stays on task, in compliance with the terms and conditions fo the permit, and is perpetually prepared for an audit.
NSR regulations must be addressed when a company adds a new facility or modifies an existing one. The two prime sets of NSR rules are Non-attainment NSR (NNSR) and PSD regulations. Proposed construction of a site or modifications to an existing major site in non-attainment areas are subject to NNSR permitting when potential emissions of the pollutants for which the site is not in attainment are above the “major” threshold definition for the specific non-attainment area. We can help your business determine what steps you will need to take in order to run new and modified emission sources.
For most large sources and some smaller sources of air pollution to operate, your facility may also be required to obtain what is referred to as a Part 70 Operating Permit or Title V Operating Permit under the Clean Air Act (CAA). Most commonly issued by your business resident state, there are occasions where the EPA is the permitting authority and issues Title V permits for sources on tribal land. Similar to the PSD in nature, ACS Engineering has successfully prepared and submitted several Title V permits since the rule’s inception in 1990.
If you have questions concerning the latest developments and best available control technologies (BACT) available to your project for initial or amendment air permitting, consult our engineers to help you optimize decisions during the permitting process.
If you are currently an operating facility with an existing air permit and would like to speak with ACS Engineering Group concerning permit compliance options, call to setup a site consultation. We will review your existing air permit, records, and compliance program to provide you with a detailed gap analysis and risk mitigation plan. Talk to us about our methods for maintaining a positive compliance track record.
